Jake Lilly is a distinguished trial attorney with over 139 jury trials to his name. Following a J.D. with a specialization in International Affairs from Cornell Law School in 2003, Jake joined the Army’s Judge Advocate Generals Corp. and volunteered for the 3rd Infantry Division and Baghdad. In Baghdad, Jake ran detainee operations for the greater Baghdad area in 2005 where he led over 80 missions through Baghdad and the surrounding areas in order to find and stop Iraqi torture and death camps. Jake knows how to fight for his missions!
In the Army, Jake served as a Trial Counsel (Felony Prosecutor) and part time Military Magistrate Judge. Jake’s very first trial was a gang rape case and the Defendant was found guilty at Courts Martial. Jake was responsible for cases involving Assaults, Sexual Battery, Drugs, Child Porn and Computer Crimes, DUI, Domestic Violence, Desertion and numerous other areas. He handled General Courts Martial, Special and Summary Courts Martial, Article 15 hearings, and administrative boards. As a Magistrate Judge, he conducted pre-trial confinement hearings, evaluated search warrants, and reviewed investigations.
Jake also served as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney. As a Federal Prosecutor, Jake was responsible for crimes committed by civilians on the military base and prosecuted those civilians in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia. Jake had previously worked for the feds as an intern in the Executive Office of U.S. Attorneys in Washington, D.C.
Following his military career, Jake served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Eastern Judicial District of Georgia in Savannah where Jake prosecuted DUI, Domestic Violence, Vehicular Homicide, Misdemeanor Traffic and Drug Cases. He handled probation revocation hearings, bail bond hearings, motions, and lots of trials. He also worked in the DUI Court run by Judge Greg Fowler.
Jake then left prosecuting to work as a Litigation Associate at a Top-5 Indianapolis Law Firm where he specialized in civil litigation, white collar criminal defense, and professional liability defense. Jake assisted in defending ordinary citizens from sometimes overzealous federal prosecutors and professional review boards. He also focused on complex economic cases and defended DUIs and traffic offenses as well.
Jake then transferred to Texas and was an Assistant District Attorney again for the office of the Criminal District Attorney in Fort Worth, Texas. In Texas, Jake prosecuted both misdemeanor and felony cases including Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Assaults, Kidnapping, Habitual Offenses, Gun Offenses, Drugs, Animal Abuse and numerous other types of cases. Jake knows how the prosecution works!
In Colorado, Jake has served as the Chief Sex Crimes Prosecutor for the 5th Judicial District (Eagle, Clear Creek Summit, and Lake Counties) and the Park County Prosecutor for the 11th Judicial District. Jake has become an expert in sex crimes and has proven himself in both large urban districts and small rural districts.
Jake has served as the principal attorney for Triple L Law PC since 2015 and has defended numerous criminal cases throughout Colorado ranging from homicide and attempted murder to sex assaults and all the way down to traffic tickets and shoplifting. He has served as appointed defense counsel for the City of Arvada and defended cases in jurisdictions ranging from Jefferson County to Pitkin County to Weld County. Jake has also defended and litigated large civil cases including those with million dollar settlements!
Jake has testified numerous times at the Capitol on criminal law matters and is a sought after expert in both criminal justice reform and international human rights. He serves as a speaker for the Law Enforcement Action Partnership and has been published numerous times on law and reform.
Beth is a former Navy Judge Advocate, having joined the JAG Corps upon completing her J.D. While serving in the Navy, Beth served as a legal assistance counsel, assisting service members with various legal issues from consumer protections matters to estate planning in preparation for deployment. She served as a defense counsel as well, having defended service members in General, Special, and Summary Courts Martial proceedings as well as in Administrative Separation hearings.
Beth served as the Deputy JAG at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego performing command services for its more than 6,000 member military and civilian staff. Beth oversaw Non Judicial Punishment proceedings, Administrative Separation hearings, handled issues concerning informed consent and powers of attorney, advised on government ethics, healthcare policy and ethics, and offered legal assistance to staff, patients, and family members on a variety of issues. She also reviewed search warrants and investigations, and served as an Article 32 hearing Officer.
After leaving the Navy, Beth earned a Master of Science in HealthCare Policy and Law and has been very active in the healthcare policy community in Denver.
She has been an attorney with Triple L Law representing clients in traffic matters, DUI, and sexual assaults cases as well as civil matters for more than two years.
